The Viennese Ball has been held in Moscow since 2003 with overwhelming success. Every year it starts with a dazzling opening ceremony by over 100 débutantes, followed by an elegant dinner with authentic Austrian cuisine and a real Austrian Kaffeehaus (coffeeshop). During the evening guests are entertained by five different orchestras and the traditional concert - a highlight of the evening - has featured such names as Roberto Alagna, Dmitry Khvorostovsky, Marcelo Alvarez, Dmitry Kortshak and the Vienna Boys' Choir. The dance floor is filled through the evening with guest dancing to both modern and traditional rhythms.

In addition to the Viennese Ball in Moscow, OOO Venski Bal Moskva has organized Russian balls in Vienna, Biarritz, Palma de Mallorca and Baden-Baden. Over 20,000 satisfied guests and enthusiastic press reports world wide are our greatest rewards and a confirmation of our success strategy.

Венский Бал в Москве ведет свою историю с 2003 года. Это ежегодное событие стало идеальным местом встречи представителей бизнеса, политиков, деятелей искусства из разных стран мира. В этом году Бал пройдет уже в девятый раз. Впечатляющая церемония открытия в хореографии Хайнца Хайденрайха пройдёт с участием 144 пар дебютантов – воспитанников Президента Российского танцевального союза Станислава Попова, который открыл им волшебный мир вальса. По традиции, Бал будут вести знаменитый телеведущий Святослав Бэлза и Станислав Попов.

Симфоническим оркестром города Москвы будут руководить венские дирижеры -маэстро Альфред Эшве и маэстро Питер Гут. Наш традиционный гала-концерт запомнится выступлением ведущего тенора Мариинского театра Сергея Скороходова, и солистки Венской Фольксопер Ани-Нины Барманн,. На танцевальной площадке размером около 1000 кв. метров гости бала с восторгом исполнят русскую и венскую кадрили. После полуночи их не оставят равнодушными оркестр гвардейцев Министерства обороны Австрии и других джазовых оркестров. На Балу, наряду с показательными выступлениями чемпионов по бальным танцам, будет много других сюрпризов. Всё это сделает бальную ночь поистине незабываемым событием.

Гала-ужин и «Венское кафе» будут представлены настоящей австрийской кухней. По традиции, в «Венском кафе» будет играть известный австрийский певец и композитор РИК. Венские флористы украсят бал своими цветочными композициями, а в бальной лотерее будут разыграны ценные призы.

Paulina Malina - The Glamour is Sparkling

Unter dem Motto "The Glamour is Sparkling" feierte die talentierte Jung-Designerin PAULINA MALINA am Samstag, den 21.Mai 2011, ihr Fashiondebüt. Die Absolventin des Fashion Instituts Hetzendorf präsentierte an diesem einzigartigen Abend im Herzen von Wien, dem edlen Palffy Club, ihre erste Kollektion. Zur Schau wurden farbenfrohe ausgefallene Kreationen von casual bis extravagant gestellt. Das Highlight dieser Modenacht war die Abendroben sowie die glamouröse Brautkleiderkollektion.

Die 24-jährige Designerin konnte in ihr Team die Make-up Artist Özge Duran und Ivana Saric holen, die an diesem Abend für das fantastische Make-up Styling der Models verantwortlich waren. Die Haarprofis Max, Gustav und Daniela von "Seven P", Wipplingerstrasse 24, 1010 Vienna, ließen ihrer Phantasie freien Lauf und kreierten trendige Frisuren. Unter den Models war unter anderem Margarita Kagalovskaja, eine der Gewinnerinnen der Liveshow "Das Modelmatch", zu sehen.

Bemerkenswert ist aber, dass die Fashionshow von der Newcomerin PAULINA MALINA sehr gut besucht war und das obwohl paralell dazu der 19. Wiener Lifeball lief. So fand sich unter den Gästen auch der Lovecoach Robert Nissel ein, der die Show in der ersten Reihe gleich mitfilmte.
Wir wünschen hiermit Paulina Malina viel Erfolg auf ihrem weiterem Karriereweg und warten auf eine baldige Fortsetzung.

Moving house? Feeling stressed? A night at the opera may be the answer.

"I had to move house in March. I suppose that I should be in therapy but that prospect seems worse than moving house.  My bijou house and garden and the schloss park in which they are situated are going under the hammer with the tag "vacant possession of the entire". So the move was inevitable. Now the resettlement is almost complete and all the stress and problems have been replaced by a simple joy.

For Saturday the 5th of April 2003, I managed to get tickets to see La Traviata with Stefania Bonfadelli. Unfortunately, she had to withdraw and was replaced by a young Russian with an amazingly beautiful voice and an unforgettable presence.  I was so touched by her performance that I went out and bought a Camellia bush which I named in her honour. Sadly, unlike the singer, it never blossomed. Anyway it moved with me in March.
 
On Saturday the 5th of April 2011, eight years to the very day after the Traviata, I went back to see the soprano sing to a packed, excited house and watched until she was taken away, not by consumption this time but by the Executioner and his Tudor Axe.  The next morning, Anna, the transplanted Camellia, had burst into bloom for the first time. "O namenlose Freude!"

The soprano, Anna Netrebko, who as Anna Bolena fell to the executioner's axe, continues to blossom as the most beautiful soprano voice we know today.

One of the great advantages of repertory opera is that it will be back to be enjoyed again and again, perhaps with different casts and conductors.  On the other hand, the stagione performances are like the Circus.  They arrive in town, stay for a few days and disappear, perhaps never to return.

Theater an der Wien, which is only five years old as a reconstituted opera house, has enjoyed a carefully planned and rapidly grown success and international reputation as a stagione opera house in that short time.

One very welcome return has been that of Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmelites last month as part the Easter festival. But I confess that anything that brings Deborah Polaski to Vienna is, de facto, to be welcomed.  It may be also a factor in determining the new production of Janacek's Katya Kabanova in the Staatsoper as the likely opera of the month for June.  The premiere will be on Friday 17th of June 2011.

I should name my favourites for the second half of the season now, because June will be the time to look forward to next Season's fare as well as some Summer offerings. For February I liked the return of Billy Budd.  Ten years and some 25 performances after the premiere, the return of Neil Shicoff, who plays the role of men struggling with deep dilemmas with extraordinary insight and sensitivity, coupled with the refreshing take on Billy by Adrian Erod, who has the best diction on stage, even in English and Peter Rose as Claggart, who, although less terrifyingly brutal and evil than the original Eric Halverson, stalked the decks with great command  and exuded power as much as respect in the presence of his commanding officer. It seemed implausible that an uppercut from a relatively weedy Billy would floor Claggart let alone kill him, but that's part of the dilemma too.

March has several contenders but Handel's Rodelinda wins the title both for the extraordinary, endlessly energetic performance of Danielle de Niese as Rodelinda and the rest of the cast including Bejun Metha,  Kurt Streit,  Konstantin Wolff,  Malena Ernman , Matthias Rexroth and a group of actors who inhabit and perhaps clutter the set, as well as for the production in which the complex plot has been transformed from 7th century Lombardy to a modern metropolis.  Represented by an enormous, revolving multi-storey concrete building, teeming with life and activity of a relatively low order, it is the background in which the plot and all its intrigues run their course to a sort of happy ending.  The music comes from the Concentus Musicus Wien with its founder, Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the helm almost sixty years on.  Hopefully this particular circus will come back to town.

April is easy. Anna Bolena, Donizetti's opera on the fall and rise of two Tudor wives, Anne Boleyn and her successor, Jane Seymour was sold out so fast that my application for tickets on 25 March 2010 was not successful.  With Anna Netrebko as Anna and Elina Garanca as Jane we saw two of the greatest artists giving of their best, both musically and dramatically, but we mustn't forget Henry VIII, sung by Ildebrando D' Archangelo, who is central to the whole situation, and the other members of the cast who added to the excellence of the whole performance.

For May I think the return of Zemlinski's Der Konig Kandaules is going to be the one to see.  It needs advance homework but is very rewarding.  It returns to the Volksoper from 05 May 2011."

Zum fünften Mal findet heuer der Yachting Ball statt, bei dem die Szene ihr Tanzbein schwingen darf. Termin ist Samstag, der 14. Mai, Location, wie sinnig, ein Schiff, und zwar die MS Stadt Wien, die zunächst im Hafen vor dem Hotel Hilton Danube am Handelskai 269, 1020 Wien, liegen wird. Nach der festlichen Eröffnung, die von der Tanzschule Schäfer-Elymayer gestaltet wird, legt die MS Wien um 22.30 Uhr ab und schippert mit den Gästen über die Donau. 

Um 0.30 will man wieder anlegen, um 4.00 endgültig die Flaggen streichen. Dazwischen sorgen Gitta Saxx, das Bernd Fröhlich Orchester und eine Einlage des Weltumsegler-Paares Alexandra und Peter Schöler für Stimmung. Den Ehrenschutz hat der Europakommissar und engagierte Segler Johannes Hahn übernommen.
