Welt Friedens Chor Festival
25. – 28. Juli 2011, Wien

Wien, Rathaus etc.).

World Peace Choir Festival
July  25 - 28, 2011, Vienna

From July 25 - 28, 2011, Vienna will once again be the stage for children's and youth choirs from around the world. Under the slogan "Coming together to sing, Singing for a better future", the young participants will model and promote world peace. The choral highlight of the festival will take place on July 28th in the world-renowned "Golden Hall" of the Musikverein. In addition to the concerts, workshops will be organized and conducted by Gerald Wirth, artistic director of the Vienna Boys' Choir.

The "World Peace Choir Festival" celebrated its premiere in August 2010. International children's and youth choirs sang together for peace. Choirs that participated in the founding of the festival were, among others, the Prague Philharmonic Children's Choir, the Vienna Boys' Choir, singers from the Calgary Boys Choir of Canada, DO-RE-MI Children´s Choir from Tyrol, the Pielachtaler Children's Choir, and seven choirs from China. Performances took place at well-known institutions in and around Vienna (Vienna Concert Hall, United Nations in Vienna, the Grand Celebration Hall of the University of Vienna, the City Hall of Vienna, etc.).

With fascination and wonder, the young singers attended music workshops together. They were exposed to Israeli, Latin American and Austrian music, expanding both their musical and cultural horizons. As part of the evening program, campfires as well as exchanges and meetings were organized and new global friendships were formed. During the festival, the Artistic Committee, under the direction of Gerald Wirth, selected particularly gifted singers for the World Peace Choir. In the coming years, The Choir will travel around the globe to give concerts promoting world peace.

Music is the common language of our world. In July 2011, the "World Peace Choir Festival" will again give children's and youth choirs from around the world the opportunity to celebrate together, make friends and promote peace.

Floridita live concert: La Excelencia

FLORIDITA- Vienna – weltweite Musik ohne Grenzen

CONCIERTO EN VIVO

Hauptprogramm:
LA EXCELENCIA con Salsa Dura  – new sound par excellence!

DJ Prince Halim

DJ Prince Halim - one of the most talented DJs in Vienna

“An animated crowd is like an engine that motivates me more and more to keep them active”
(DJ Prince Halim)

Born ’89 on Caribbean ‘ile of beauty’ St Lucia, DJ Prince Halim does not only grow up with marvellous beaches, coco butter and whatever paradise includes for you - but also the passionate rhythm of Reggae, Calypso and Ska. This is when the magic of music has its initial impacts on this young soul. In 1993 his Creole mother moves with him to Vienna, but she will make sure he never happens to loosen up the strong connection to his roots.

As a teenager he travels between St. Lucia, the US and Africa trying to stay in contact with his family spread over the world. Impressed by the DJs of his father’s  St. Lucian nightclub ‘MJI’ he starts to learn more about spinning. But it was in New York City where his cousin DJ Gobaza, member of the Silverbullet Group – a Brooklyn DJ crew,  decides  to really give skills to lil’ Halim. He teaches him how to mix tapes and scratch vinyl and introduces him to his colleagues, eg DJ Kieza who becomes an important mentor of the aspiring DJ Prince Halim. They let him have his spinning time in some underground clubs. He returns to Vienna as a full blood DJ and confidently sets his foot in the business after he graduates.

Now DJ Prince Halim is present in Vienna’s hottest nightclubs such as Moulin Rouge, Club Couture,  Clubschiff, Lutz Club and many more, spins for  ‘Models and Players’ of UG UEntertainment, Club Galerie, Phoenix Supperclub, Bow 4 or even on events of the UNO, plus he cooperates with DJ Shane and Power Plus in a St. Lucian Dancehall event called ‘Upper level’. His flexibility is incredible and can be referred to his cultural background and cosmopolitan attitude. He puts together new wave and oldschool Hip Hop, is brilliant if it comes to Reggae, throws Reaggeaton and Dancehall beats like no other, but he also perfectly handles Soul or Classic RnB. His creativity in music is infinite and so is his recognition. The secret lies in his spontaneity. Prince Halim never prepares playlists in advance, because he believes in responding to the crowd’s mood.  His sensible feeling for the club audience is what makes his performances extra special and incomparable.
Genre: RnB, Soul, Rap, Blues, Reggae, Reggaeton, Dancehall, Nija-JamZ, House, Club-Hits
